The German hotel classification, which is carried out under the Hotelstars Union brand (hotelstars.eu), is a rating system for classifying hotels into different star categories. This system is based on defined criteria and standards that are largely uniform throughout Europe. The Hotelstars Union was founded in 2009 and comprises several European countries that have joined forces to create a harmonized hotel classification system. The aim is to provide guests with a reliable guide when choosing a hotel and to make the quality of hotel services transparent and comparable.
