M´era Luna – Gothic & Darkwave Festival

The M´era Luna Festival on 11 and 12 August 2012 is an institution in the darkwave and Gothic scene and draws up to 25,000 visitors from throughout Europe to Hildesheim each year. Along with the Wave-Gotik festival in Leipzig, this music festival, which was first launched in the year 2000, is one of the largest festivals for alternative music and the dark scene.

On the second weekend in August, the Hildesheim airport is transformed into an enormous catwalk for extravagant make-up and outfits made of velvet and silk as well as leather – on and in front of the stages. The M´era Luna Festival is the perfect opportunity for Gothic fans to live their dark side to the fullest for an entire weekend. The audience and the bands all love the scene festival and with some 40 bands from Germany and from around the world, there is something for every musical taste.
